Tade was super glad that her boyfriend was back to Ibadan for good; finally, they could be together once again and work on getting the spark back into their relationship. It was one of the reasons she planned the surprise birthday gift to be delivered by her sister. She knew he wasn’t going to be expecting anything from her but she did it anyway. For one, Ade was the only guy Tade really felt comfortable with; the only guy she knew could withstand her dry jokes as her own friends complained severally about how dry her jokes were; she also felt at peace with Ade. Ayomide had finally woken up after a really long sleep. Tofunmi’s heart was literally in her mouth all through as the doctors and nurses walked back and forth the hall way. She had never experienced anything like this before. Her parents had never been sick enough for her to bring them to the hospital; neither has Tade or even herself gotten critically ill. She couldn’t even make any meaning out of all the doctor had been saying. All she wanted to hear was that he will be fine and they would go back to their normal lives. Tofunmi had rushed to the hospital having gotten home to meet an empty house and called her mother who described the hospital where Ayomide had been rushed to. Tofunmi had walked into the hostel like someone that got beat up. She had just written her last exam for 200level and she was really exhausted. She had initially considered her lecturers as very mean people for placing all 200level exams in one week, but after her mum had called her about Ayomide’s health, she reconsidered her thoughts about her lecturers and was indeed grateful that she could finish on time and get home to attend to her son.
