Being Human (8)

By the time Folusho knocked on the door and Dolapo opened for her to come in, she was already fully dressed. She had her bag all set to step out. She was excited to see her friend but she couldn't hide her worry; she could not afford to be played, again. "Not even a hug?" Folusho said as she walked past her friend to sit on the bed. "I'm sorry Flo. You know I'm excited to see you... There's just so much on my mind right now" Dolapo moved to where her best friend was and gave her a hug. Folusho hugged her back and wondered what the matter was. "Thanks for coming. We'll be leaving this Abuja together oh... I hope you know that already" She was more relaxed now. Maybe all she actually needed was a hug, she thought to herself. Folusho who had tried to form serious face for about two minutes just burst into laughter. "You and who? No be only you waka come? See ehn, my mind is no longer in this Abuja oh. If not because yo

Mrs. Martins was one of the major professional caterers in the city of Abuja. She had serious connections with the top government officials, and truth be told, she was living the life. There wasn't much to be told about her family - her kids and husband, as she kept her family issues as private as possible. She took her job personal, especially since she didn't just stumble on the business but actually trained as a Nutrionist, home and abroad. Carving a niche in the catering business was no small job. Like she would say, " you have to be smart, presentation is key but most importantly, never let an opportunity slip away; do all you can with what you have to get what you want". Tami had just finished with her make-up and headgear. She always had a function to either attend or cater for every weekend and she knew too well than to dress anyhow to these occasions. She had fished Tami out from her numerous visits to make-up studios in Abuja. Tami knew the perfect look

The aroma was irresistible. It was as though she had never perceived chicken in her life. Dolapo changed into a pair of shorts, packed her hair in a bun and hurried out of the room to meet Jay who was busy in the kitchen. She caught him unawares by holding his waist as he served what looked to her like white rice and lots of vegetables with chicken, but she was certain it wasn't just white rice and lots of vegetables . "Hey you" Jay turned gently to give her a peck and continued dishing. "Let me help" Dolapo took two glass cups from the stand and wanted to collect the plates from Jay but he wouldn't have any of that. "You're the guest babe. It's your first time here and you deserve a royal treatment" Jay paused for a moment with the dressing of the food, led Dolapo to the dining room and drew a chair out for her to sit. "I'd be right back" This was good, Dolapo thought to herself. She was loving this weekend

I must start this episode with a huge apology from me, myself and I for being away for a month or so. I can't begin to explain how sorry I am and how swamped I've been with Life. I'm sorry lovelies. Being Human continues. Do enjoy the read. Thank you. *Faith -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They hugged as though they hadn't seen each other for a year. The hug seemed to have lasted forever. Jay held his babe tighter and planted light kisses on her forehead, nose and lips. It was too much PDA for Dolapo on a normal day but this wasn't a normal day. They had not seen for 3 whole months; yes - 3 months. " I missed you like crazy, didn't realize it was this bad " Dolap blushed and covered her face as she was now conscious of Jay's public display of affection . " Missed you too girl... Welcome to Abuja ", Jay helped her with her cute travel bag and walked
