When the Chips are down, Do We Really Love?

Image
Hello people. I want to believe we've all been having a nice day?   As we all know, Valentine's Day is around the corner. I'd be posting a lot of things on the popular subject of LOVE from now till the 14th of February. And i'm starting today by posing this big question to you: Do you really Love? If we carefully consider the issue of love and ask ourselves this question, we'll find out that most of the time, we love God and people for reasons; we just love what is in God's hands - the protection, provision, safety, care that He showers us with all the time; and for people, we love them because of the things that they can offer or for the things we can get from them. We may not easily agree but that's the truth. Take for example, you love me because i'll often have a kind word to make your day, a smile to cheer you up; for those that know me, the jokes i tell, etc; you love your partner because he/she is educated, soft-spoken, vast, intelligent, pret

T.G.I.... (fill in the gap): It's an attitude!

Good morning people. I bet you all slept well. It's a funky fresh friday and although I should be more excited than this but I'm not. That's because I started the day off on a pretty bad note; bashed my car while trying to driving out. My driving skills need to improve asap. But that is just by the way. Today, the famous acronym comes to mind - TGIF which means Thank God It's Friday. Everyone looks forward to Friday 'cause it's the door into the weekend. It really is a positive way to view Friday as the close of working days and it can be a positive way to view your everyday life. It speaks a lot of volumes to be thankful to God for yet another Friday and if we imbibe the TG...(fill in the gap)

The New Face of Ibadan

I've lived in this great and ancient city of Ibadan for 19 years now and to be candid, i've had a great stay in this calm city. However, this city has been characterised by "dirtness" and "disorganisation". It ranked top as the "dirtiest" city in Nigeria. Indeed, Ibadan has been a "big slum". Lawlessness and non-challant attitude has been the order of the day. And we the "seemingly tush" ones have learnt to live in it, only caring about our own house and not even the rest of the street. And when Fashola came into government in Lagos State and started the brutal revolution, many of us in Ibadan were quick to conclude that that was only possible in Lagos and such revolution cannot take place in Ibadan. Oyo state with the slogan of "Pace Setter" has actually failed to set the pace in so many things in the past years up until now when it seems that a bit of fresh air is blowing into this great city. The recent Ajimob

I wanna see you dance....

This is a song by Deitrick Haddon. The lyrics are so inspiring and i just wanted to share parts of it and not verbatim. I added some things, though. Enjoy! To all Nigerians All my sisters and brothers Things are gonna get better Life has a way of bringing hard times That can mess with your peace of mind But don't let the troubles on the outside Take the love you have on the inside And I'd give anything to see you smile again To know your love again, to have my friend And I'd give anything to hold your hand again To watch you laugh again, to have my friend Oh I want to see you happy I want to see you dance I wanna see you dance You should be dancing you should be dancing That old devil is a monster Have you hating the ones that love you And you don't have to let him move you There's a greater love that's working through you And I'll give anything to see you smile again To watch you laugh again, to have my friend  I'll give anything to hold your hand a
